2008 Nordic 500 released in Oslo
CCD today released the Nordic 500 at a conference in The National Library in Oslo. International speakers participated in the conference: Celia de Anca, Director for the Center for Diversity, IE Business School Madrid, professor Sue Vinnicombe, Cranfield School of Management, UK, and Director Ellena Fedyashina, Committee of 20, Moscow. The conference was attended by industrial leders, organizations and press.

CCD has received support from the Ministry for Trade and Industry for the Nordic 500 study in 2008. Together with the partners for the study CCD will organize a release conference in Oslo in November 2008, an ”invited only” event.

Marit Hoel has submitted her contribution “The Quota Story” for publishing in an international book on Women on Boards, to be published on Elgar Books, London, in September 2008.

CCD organized a conference on The Oslo Stock Exchange: “Ethics and Enterprise on Oslo Børs (OSE)”. Spesial guests were State Secretary Frode Berge, Ministry for Trade and Industry and President in the Nordic Council, Dagfinn Høybråten. Several members of CCD Nordic 500 Advisory Board gave presentations, among them Bente A. Landsnes, Harald Norvik, Johan Nic. Vold, Olaug Svarva, Carina Lundberg and David Loughman. Marit Hoel presented the story behind the quota law in Norway, and presented new statistics on the development of women board directors in the public limited companies that are targeted by the law.
June 2007
Marit Hoel gave an opening lecture at the first Women Equality Conference arranged by Kristelig Folkeparti (Christian Democrats Party) on June 2nd, in Oslo. She presented new data on Women Board Directors in Norway (see press release).
New data was presented also at the Foreign Press Association in Oslo on June 5th.
On June 7th Marit gave a speech at the Nordic Forum in Stockholm.

CCD will undertake the second Nordic 500 study during fall/winter 2006/2007. The Nordic 500 will investigate management and board diversity in the 500 largest companies in the nordic countries. The study will be presented in the second half of 2007.

Marit Hoel was a speaker at a womans event in the Norwegian Parliament om May 15th 2006. The event was organized by the Social Democratic Party in the Parliament.

In March 2006 CCD launched a new initiative: Boardbuilding.no. Boardbuiliding is a network initiative among very skilled corporate women in Norway.
